Hi, I’m James.
I’ve spent the last 20 years making digital products.
I’ve been a designer, engineer, product leader and founder. I’ve designed and built products at Deliveroo, Klarna and Monzo, led teams, started companies of my own, and taken ideas from a conversation to something real people use.
That range is the reason maker.design exists: a solo studio bringing product strategy, design and engineering together for founders and teams.
Most product work gets split between strategy, product, design and engineering. Each discipline hands something to the next. Context gets lost, decisions get diluted, and simple ideas become complicated projects.
With Maker, you work directly with me across the whole thing.
I can help work out what should exist, shape the product, design the experience, build the software and get it into people’s hands. No account manager. No handoffs. The person making the decisions is the person doing the work.
