For whatever
you’re building.
Build something new, rescue what you’ve started, or keep a live product running. Here’s what working together looks like, and what you’ll have at the end of it.
Prototype
Test the hypothesis. Make the idea tangible.
A product prototype gives you something carefully designed to put in front of customers, your team or investors. It helps you explore the problem, test your hypothesis and demonstrate the experience before committing to a production build. It’s for learning and fundraising, not a live product launch.
Who it’s for. You want to test whether an idea solves a worthwhile problem, get feedback on a customer journey or bring a funding pitch to life.

A focused sprint. Scope and cost agreed before we start.
What you get
A clear hypothesis to test
We identify who it’s for, the problem you believe they have and what you need to learn. That gives the prototype a purpose beyond looking convincing in a demo.
A deliberately designed experience
The core screens, interactions and content are designed around your users and your idea. My product judgement shapes what we make, what we leave out and how the experience should work.
A shareable product prototype
An interactive version to test with people or demonstrate during a funding round. Sample data and simulated behaviour let us explore the journey without building live accounts, authentication or production systems.
A direction for the next step
We review feedback and identify what needs to change, what still needs testing and what a production build would involve. The prototype helps you make a more informed decision about an MVP.
How we work
We agree the question to explore and the journey to cover. I design and prototype it, share progress with you and refine it from feedback. You finish with something you can test and present, with a clear understanding of what is simulated and what would need to be built for production.
Why build with Maker?
AI tools can generate a first version quickly. I bring 20 years of designing, building and leading products to the decisions behind it: whether we’re solving the right problem, how the experience should feel and what will give you useful evidence. Modern tools help me move quickly; the product direction, design and judgement come from an experienced maker working directly with you.
What’s outside the scope?
This is not a production product. User accounts, authentication or SSO, live payments, production databases, production hardening and App Store submissions or launches are outside Prototype. Those belong in a separately scoped MVP. Any third-party hosting or usage costs are agreed separately.
MVP
A production product, ready for real users.
MVP means a focused first release that people can actually use. I design and build the complete customer journey, with the engineering and infrastructure it needs to run in production. That can be a native app, a web product or a connected service, with the platform and scope agreed around your idea.
Who it’s for. You understand the problem you want to solve and are ready to launch, or you have a prototype that needs to become a production product.
Launch offerStandard price £6,500
From£5,000/ project
One core customer loop. Scope and cost agreed before we start.
What you get
A focused first release
We define the core customer journey, choose the right platform and agree what belongs in the first version. The scope stays small enough to launch while delivering a complete, useful experience.
Considered design and real engineering
I design the interface, interactions and content, then build the application and services behind them. Loading, errors and edge cases get attention alongside the main journey.
Established production infrastructure
Where the product needs them, we use managed cloud databases, secure data access, established authentication and SSO services, payment providers and integrations. I choose current technologies suited to the product and configure how they work together. We agree which capabilities are included before starting.
Testing, launch and handover
The agreed journeys, permissions and integrations are tested before launch. You get a deployed product and a walkthrough of how to operate it. For a native app, App Store preparation and submission can form part of the agreed scope; store approval remains with the platform.
How we work
We agree the platform, capabilities, scope and price first. I design and build in small increments so you can try the work as it develops. We check the complete journey, data access and launch setup before releasing, then identify what to learn from real users next.
Why build with Maker?
You get 20 years of product experience across strategy, design and engineering. I use AI and modern development tools to move faster, and take responsibility for the design decisions, architecture, code review and testing. The value is a coherent product built around your users, backed by established services and an experienced person who understands how the whole thing fits together.
What’s outside the scope?
Multiple substantial workflows and capabilities beyond the agreed first release are quoted separately. The price depends on the platform, integrations and scope we choose together. Third-party hosting, database, authentication, payment and app store fees are separate. Ongoing care and improvements can continue through Run.
Rescue
Get the product you’ve started over the line.
Sometimes the idea is good but the product isn’t quite there. It might be an AI-built prototype, an unfinished application or a live experience that has become difficult to use or maintain. We work out what’s worth keeping and fix what’s getting in the way.
Who it’s for. You already have something built, but bugs, confusing UX, fragile code or an unfinished launch are stopping you from moving forward.
Launch offerStandard price £1,500
From£1,250/ project
Scope agreed after reviewing your product. Scope and cost agreed before we start.
What you get
A review of what’s there
I look through the existing product and code to understand how it works, where it’s fragile and what needs attention first.
An agreed plan of fixes
We separate urgent blockers from later improvements and agree a practical scope and quote. You know what we’re fixing before the work begins.
Hands-on design and engineering
I work through the agreed issues: improving the experience, repairing broken flows and making the underlying product easier to work with.
A tested next version
The affected journeys are checked, the changes are explained and the updated product is prepared for deployment. Remaining work is made clear, rather than hidden.
How we work
We start with access to the existing product and a conversation about what’s stuck. I review it, propose the work and agree the cost with you. Then I make the fixes and take you through the result. A full rebuild, if needed, is scoped separately.
What’s outside the scope?
Unscoped rebuilds. Third-party hosting and usage costs are separate. We agree the scope and communication before starting.
Run
Keep your product healthy. Keep making it better.
A product needs attention after launch: small fixes, security updates, feedback to respond to and ideas worth trying. Run gives you an ongoing design and engineering partner who already understands the product and can keep it moving.
Who it’s for. You have a live product and need someone to look after it and make steady improvements without building an in-house team.
Launch offerStandard price £1,250 / month
£1,000/ month
One active request at a time. Scope and cost agreed before we start.
What you get
Care for the essentials
Monitoring, dependency and security updates, and backup checks help keep the product in good shape as the tools around it change.
Fixes and deployment support
Someone who knows the product can investigate issues, make small repairs and help get changes safely into the live application.
Useful product improvements
We work on incremental features, UI refinements, analytics and integrations, prioritised around what will help your users and business most.
One clear delivery queue
We agree the priorities and work through one active request at a time. You see progress and can help decide what comes next.
How we work
We review the product, agree how we’ll communicate and put the first priorities in a shared queue. I work through one request at a time and keep you involved as changes ship. Larger new capabilities are quoted separately so the monthly work stays focused.
What’s outside the scope?
Substantial new capabilities. Unlimited concurrent requests. Third-party hosting and usage costs are separate. We agree the scope and communication before starting.
